Attend the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee Meeting

To Everyone: Please give this request your serious consideration. If you are willing and able, join with other concerned citizens and stand up for the Rights of the Disenfranchised May 31st.

[UPDATE: Please also sign the petition on Hillary's website demanding that the voters of Florida and Michigan Count: FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN DESERVE TO BE HEARD]

On Saturday May 31st, the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) will make a determination regarding the status of MI and FL voters at an open meeting. As Democrats, the Party of the People, we stand for the principle that every vote must count. Consistent with this, we believe the DNC must seat the delegates selected by the Michigan and Florida voters. We believe that anything short of counting the votes and seating the delegates as voted, is a violation of the fundamental civil rights and civil liberties of MI and FL voters, and an affront to us all.

We must not allow our party to do to itself what the Republicans did to us in 2000.

We must make our voices heard–and we can do so by traveling together to Washington to attend the MAY 31 meeting, which begins at 9am. The Ad Hoc Committee to Count Every Vote is offering r/t bus transport leaving Grand Central at 2am on Saturday, May 31 in order to arrive in DC around 6am. This will give us some time to get organized to enter the meeting or gather outside. The buses will return to Manhattan leaving DC around 2pm. The r/t cost is $48.

For those who want to make their own travel arrangements, we are able to offer a group of rooms at the Hilton on Connecticut Avenue for $139/room, including tax, on Friday May 30, and on Saturday night May 31. In order to secure this rate I must have your reservation and payment

by Saturday May 17.

OPERATION TURN DOWN OBAMA 3 P.M. TODAY
From: Syndicated Radio Talk Show Host Steve Corbett
    Why I’m Turning Down Obama
    Friday, May 16, 2008

“Operation Turndown” has deep roots in my own personal radical politics.

If Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for president, I will not vote for him.

    I will turn him down.

Judging from callers to “Corbett” yesterday, so will many other Democrats.

Democrats must follow their hearts and their heads.
everybody join us today we have the DNC ears lets use it hes heard in 50 states via the net and radio

75,000 attend Obama rally: Oh those sly Obama campaign managers. First they announce that Barack Obama will making an appearance on the waterfront this Sunday, setting into motion an inevitable RSVP frenzy. Now comes news that the Decemberists will perform in support of the increasingly presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee. But do they come out and say the Decemberists will be striking up its chords for the candidate? Not quite. Obama’s site instead decided to test your name knowledge of the not-so-mysterious Capitol-signed act. Also performing Colin Meloy, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee, Nate Query, and John Moen it was a free concert by TOP BANDS they came to see DUH
