The Lying Bastards Option
How Hillary Haters have Embraced Right Wing Tactics for Smearing a Good and Loyal Democrat
Tom Edsall of Huffington Post has put out what is clearly a last ditch attempt to smear Hillary before the upcoming elections in North Carolina and Indiana. To accomplish his hit job he has employed well honed smear tactics first used by the Republican right over a decade ago. Smear tactics that he undoubtedly learned from that turncoat smearmeister herself, Arianna Huffington. According to Shyster, I mean Tom Edsall, Hillary has a secret “nuclear option” plan for hustling away the nomination from Barack Obama.
Clinton Camp Considering Nuclear Option To Overtake Delegate Lead
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has a secret weapon to build its delegate count, but her top strategists say privately that any attempt to deploy it would require a sharp (and by no means inevitable) shift in the political climate within Democratic circles by the end of this month.
With at least 50 percent of the Democratic Party’s 30-member Rules and Bylaws Committee committed to Clinton, her backers could — when the committee meets at the end of this month — try to ram through a decision to seat the disputed 210-member Florida and 156-member Michigan delegations. Such a decision would give Clinton an estimated 55 or more delegates than Obama, according to Clinton campaign operatives.
It all sounds so ominous doesn’t it? That mean witch Hillary is going to use some secret weapon to gain the nomination. If you listen to buffoons like Edsall it sounds as if she is going to rip the Democratic party apart. And just to make his imaginary case that this is what Hillary has in the works, Asshole, I mean Edsall quotes a somewhat respected political analyst who describes what the result of this imaginary nefarious plan would yield.
In a more typical reaction to the story, political analyst Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia said: “Wow. The nuclear option will yield nuclear winter for the Democratic Party.”
Well isn’t that special? First he makes something up, then he has an “expert” comment on the result the same will have upon the Democratic party. All real scary stuff.
But how much of this is based in reality and how much is smear?
According to Hillary’s campaign it is pretty much all in the imagination of Tom Asshole, I mean Edsall. And I quote in full:
It’s No Secret: Florida and Michigan Count and Their Delegates Should Be Seated
The Huffington Post describes a “secret” plan that the Clinton Campaign has to seat the Michigan and Florida delegations. There is no secret plan. In fact, this story misrepresents the process laid out in the DNC rules for resolving the questions surrounding the seating of the Michigan and Florida delegations.
The Clinton campaign has been vocal in stating that the votes of 2.5 million people must be respected. Hardly a day goes by when a Clinton official doesn’t publicly declare that the votes of Michigan and Florida count and that the delegations from those states should be seated.
DNC members from Michigan and Florida have filed challenges with the DNC to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations. The process being followed to adjudicate these challenges is completely consistent with the DNC rules. The Rules and Bylaws Committee (RBC) is the DNC body charged with dealing with these challenges until the 56th day before the convention, and its process is public and transparent.
The membership of the RBC does not - in large part - turn over. A former Secretary of Labor, and the grandson of FDR who is a long time party activist and has been a co-chair of the committee for several election cycles chair it. Other members include a former chair of the party, Al Gore’s Campaign Manager (who is a former co-chair of the RBC as well), and an executive board member of the NAACP. Although the RBC is comprised of people who support both candidates, these people take their roles as party activists seriously.
The DNC process will decide the fate of the Florida and Michigan delegations. It is an open and transparent process — unlike the backroom deals proposed by the Obama campaign that would disenfranchise the nearly 2.5 million people who voted in Florida and Michigan.
Notice anything different from the Asshole, I mean Edsall allegations? I wonder why I keep mixing the two of those up? The first thing that jumps right out at me is that what is happening is the normal LEGAL process by which states and their delegations attempt to resolve differences with the DNC. In fact, Florida and Michigan are following the process that the DNC laid out for them. So nothing particularly nefarious about that. But that doesn’t stop Ass… I caught myself… Edsall from spinning this some more, providing unfounded allegations from unnamed sources.
The campaign’s public assertions stand in contrast to its response to inquiries prior to publication of the story. At that point, Clinton aides insisted on keeping all comments either off the record or on deep background, or did not respond to questions at all. The campaign statement appeared to be designed to try to reduce the significance of the story.
Get that last part? Reduce the significance of the story.
Doesn’t that sound a little more like: They are trying to make it look like my paranoid delusional belief isn’t real and I want my mommy?
Well that’s what it sounds like to me.
Asshole…damn I keep forgetting… I mean Edsall continues to rip into Hillary citing those oft repeated lies that the mainstream media has accepted as facts, namely that no one campaigned in Florida. And therefore even though Hillary won there the results shouldn’t count. Not their delegates or their votes. Then he goes on to say that Obama didn’t even have his name on the ballot in Michigan so there was no way Hillary could have won there.
When the contests were actually held, none of the candidates actively campaigned in either state. In Michigan, Obama had his name taken off the ballot. Clinton “won” both contests.
The Obama campaign contends that the primaries in the two states were not legitimate, especially in Michigan where voters could not cast a ballot for Obama. Clinton “won” the Michigan contest with 55 percent, while 40 percent voted “uncommitted” and the remainder went to minor candidates.
But the facts conclude that one candidate DID campaign in Florida and his name was Barack Obama. He bought air time on a cable channel that broadcast his commercial deep into Florida. Then he used some bullshit excuse never challenged by the DNC that there was no way to keep his commercials from being broadcast there. So he didn’t really campaign. This is like smoke and mirrors on steroids. The very simple way NOT to campaign in Florida was to not make that particular buy for your ads. But I guess something as simple as a common sense approach goes over the heads of the elite DNC and their “rules” which mysteriously only happen to apply to Hillary strongholds. The facts conclude that if there is anyone not entitled to any delegates in Florida it is Barack Obama for violating the DNC rules about not campaigning there.
And this perpetual nonsense that Michigan shouldn’t be counted because Obama wasn’t even on the ballot is a complete farce repeated ad nauseum by political pundits and even by a few particular know nothings at the DNC. Obama intentionally took his name off the ballot in Michigan to suck up to the voters in Iowa and New Hampshire. The lie that he took his name off the ballot because of DNC rules has gone unchallenged as well in the mainstream media. Then Obama had his surrogates all over the state persuade his supporters to vote “uncommitted” as did the surrogates of John Edwards. And even so, Hillary spanked both of their asses with 55% of the vote.
I think it is time that we drew a line in the sand, stood up and said in unison that we aren’t going to take this bullshit any longer. Not from Tom Asshole (I didn’t forget this time), not from Arianna Huff and Puff. And certainly not from the DNC.
All throughout this nomination process we have seen a biased media and equally complicit DNC create different sets of rules for different candidates. Obama and his merry band of pandering thieves have gotten away with race baiting, death threats and intimidation. While Hillary has been the one accused of destroying the party for her own personal ambition. Republican talking points have become mainstream Democratic talking points if you listen to these traitors, the ones that have chosen their nominee for the rest of us. Everything has been Hillary’s fault according to them. Letting this nomination process play itself out to the end has been portrayed as giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
This is not a democratic process that I recognize. It bears no resemblance to the fine traditions of inclusion in the Democratic party. And unless we stand up and unite against this attempted coup of our party it will either disappear or become something none of us recognize in the near future.

I clicked on this story from my iGoogle page, not realizing it was going to take me to HuffPo, which has become Obama Central, and (gasp!) OH. MY. GAWD! Hillary is going to (gasp again!) follow the rules!!!
Jeebus on a Triscuit, Edsall makes it seem like using the remedy well within the DNC rules is somehow sneaky, underhanded…NUCLEAR even! But then again, EVERYTHING Hillary does is evil, haven’t you figured that out?

“According to Shyster, I mean Tom Edsall, Hillary has a secret “nuclear option” plan for hustling away the nomination from Barack Obama.”
You do know that the term “shyster” is a loaded term of anti-Semitism, don’t you? Just sayin’…

Will… I meant nothing Anti-Semitic by my comment. I think you are reading WAY too much into what was written. Anyone that knows me at all knows that I am neither a racist or an Anti-Semite.

That’s fine–I certainly don’t think you’re a racist or anti-Semite. But the word shyster has an ugly history and connotation. “Asshole” Edsall works much better.

Speaking of nuclear, Obama shafted his constituents for Exelon, with a bill that was supposed to force them to notify neighbors of nuclear leaks. He watered it down to voluntary. And That is REAL nuclear danger, not this bullroar Obamazoids pluck out of their orifices. In fact, by coincidence, my latest blog mentions that. But of course, when a person on the board of directors bundles $200,000 for him, Barack understands his priorities….Bamboozled. Hoodwinked. How’s that for the right words?
